Claudia Ruiz - Contemporary Artist
Born in Colombia in 1978, Claudia Ruiz lives in Switzerland.
At the age of nine, Claudia Ruiz began to paint in watercolor and attended various arts and crafts courses in addition to the school.
At the age of 16 she left her homeland to discover the world and studied art and graphic design in the United States of America.
Her love for nature is explained by her indigenous roots. After having completed a Master in Art Direction in Barcelona, Spain, the artist Claudia Ruiz decided to travel a couple of years to make diving in Asia and Latin America, where she got the inspiration to create her unique art.
Her current work underscores the beauty and importance of coral reefs for our planet. Thanks to her own invention - a blend of different materials, including fine sand, acrylic modelling paste and cotton - Claudia creates intricate, colorful and three-dimensional art objects.
Claudia loves nature above all else and wants to reflect its beauty in her art. In addition, Claudia Ruiz wants to pass on the message of her work, to take care of nature. Part of the proceeds of their paintings are used by various organisations and NGOs working to conserve and restore coral reefs.
